Wir haben Rohwolle von Schafen aus der Gegend als Material gewählt, das als Analogie für den Boden der Landschaft dient, wie eine Haut, eine Art Tracht der Natur.
Wolle ist ein seit Jahrtausenden genutzter Stoff, den wir gefilzt, gesponnen, gewebt und gewirkt haben. Die Produktion von Textilien beansprucht seit Urzeiten einen Großteil der landwirtschaftlich genutzten Flächen. Seit Jahrhunderten ist der Anbau von z. B. Baumwolle mitverantwortlich für das Austrocknen der Böden. Doch nicht nur die Ausbeutung der Böden ist ihr zuzuschreiben. Viele Menschen litten und leiden weiterhin unter den Produktionsbedingungen und wirtschaftlichen Strukturen, die diesem Stoff zugrunde liegen.
In „New Skin For A Landscape 2“ liegt der Schwerpunkt auf dem Stichwort Wasser.

We have chosen raw wool from local sheep as a material that serves as an analogy for the soil of the landscape, like a skin, a kind of costume of nature.
Wool is a material that has been used for thousands of years and that we have felted, spun, woven and knitted. The production of textiles has taken up a large proportion of agricultural land since time immemorial. For centuries, the cultivation of cotton, for example, has been partly responsible for the drying out of the soil. But it is not only the exploitation of the soil that can be attributed to it. Many people have suffered and continue to suffer from the production conditions and economic structures on which this crop is based.
In “New Skin For A Landscape 2”, the focus is on water.
