Carolin Kropff’s artistic practice operates at the intersection of fine art, craft, and mediation. Her work spans painting, printmaking, and textile art, as well as socially engaged formats. Central to her approach are questions around image-making and narration, symbolism and meaning, and an exploration of materials through traditional handcraft techniques. She is particularly interested in the cultural and social dimensions of craftsmanship, treating inherited techniques not only as artistic tools but also as carriers of collective memory.
In 2020, she founded Studiospace in Frankfurt am Main – an independent, artist-run platform for artistic research, dialogue, and participatory formats. The space provides a framework for making artistic processes visible, negotiable, and collectively explored, supported by Kulturamt Frankfurt.
