I am a visual artist and use a process-oriented and cross-media approach to my work. My artistic practice moves between the fields of fine art, arts and crafts (methods of production, socio-cultural aspects) and the mediation of art and deals with the transitions between material and meaning, between body and image and between past and present.
Before studying Fine Arts at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, I completed an apprenticeship in bespoke tailoring. This solid foundation in craftsmanship continues to shape my understanding of form, materiality, and intimacy – key elements in both my textile art and broader artistic practice.
Since founding the Studiospace at Lange Strasse 31 in Frankfurt in 2020, the space has evolved into a vibrant platform for contemporary art. It hosts short-term exhibitions with national and international artists, as well as different workshop formats that combine artistic research with social dialogue.
A central concern in my work is the transmission of textile craft techniques and other under-acknowledged practices. With many years of experience in participatory contexts where artistic and craft work intersect, I am committed to creative processes that open up spaces for agency, sensibility and collective memory.
